Overview

For almost a decade, I’ve designed Defence Construction Canada’s Annual Reports and Corporate Summaries, developing a visual approach that can evolve while maintaining consistency from year to year. The 2021 report was particularly interesting, as a new president brought a desire to take the publication in a fresh direction. I worked within the established DCC brand while introducing a new visual approach to the publication, balancing corporate credibility with more engaging editorial design. Across the reports, the challenge is always the same: take a substantial amount of information, create a clear and compelling hierarchy, and make a document that people can actually navigate and understand. The collection shown here spans the reports I designed from 2013–2021, illustrating how the design has evolved over time while continuing to serve the organization’s communication goals.
