Overview
Following the success of an earlier Housing and Homelessness report, the City of Ottawa asked us to build on the established design and structure for a new edition—with one significant change: no photography. Instead, the report would rely entirely on illustration and information design to bring the content to life. I adapted and reworked existing vector assets to create a custom illustration system for the report, redrawing elements, adjusting colour and expanding the visual language to work within the publication. I also expanded the existing colour palette to give the illustrations enough range and created infographics and callouts to help make complex information easier to digest. Designed primarily for digital use but suitable for print, the final report balanced accessibility, clarity and visual storytelling throughout.
